The return of our annual Forest fans boat trip on the Trent which will take place before the Aston Villa game on Monday 10th October. Having been denied the event for the last few years, we were determined to bring it back for 2022. Unfortunately, our original plans to sail for a Saturday game were scuppered by TV scheduling and beyond the date of the Villa game it is feared the weather will not be good enough. So we are holding our first ever evening sail, smaller than usual but we didn’t want to have another season without any kind of boat trip.
This is a scaled down event compared to previous years – all fans will be aboard the one big boat. As it stands there will be no other boats taking part but we’d encourage any others to join if they can. Feel free to get in touch with us if you think you can help on that.
In a time of uncertainty and financial struggle we felt it would be right to allow supporters to pay what they can manage this year. A normal ticket for this year’s trip costs £11.50 which meets the cost to the boat company and also supports the Forza Garibaldi fund for new banners and displays. If you opt to pay via Paypal this will be the the set amount per person you will have to pay. If you wish to pay a different amount then please select the bank transfer option and pay the amount you wish. As a guide, our cost to the boat company is around £6 per head so it would be appreciated if you can justify meeting this cost as a minimum. Alternatively you may wish to help us out and pay a cost higher than the recommended ticket price of £11.50.
Please note that a risk remains that poor weather will cause this to be cancelled. If this happens we will lose a deposit of £150 and therefore request that, in the event of a cancellation, £1 from every ticket is held to help us with the cost. The remaining balance will be refunded in full.
Itinerary as follows:
Boarding – We are conscious of people being at work or elsewhere until later in the day so to help with this boarding will not be until around 5:20 / 5:30pm. Please arrive at the mooring points close to Trent Bridge near the Brewhouse pub at the earliest opportunity. The bar will be open immediately.
Departure – 6pm from Trent Bridge. LAST BOARDING IS 5:45pm – BEYOND THIS POINT BOARDING WILL BE STOPPED TO ALLOW US TO DEPART ON TIME.
1.5 hour duration concluding at 7:30pm at Trent Bridge at the same mooring point (kick-off is 8pm).
The boat will have a fully stocked bar. Bringing your own alcohol or food on board is not permitted. Flags & banners are welcome.
Tickets £11.50 per person which includes donation to FG fund. Payment is via Paypal or bank transfer – monies required within 24 HOURS of order. If not received in that time transaction will be cancelled and tickets re-sold. There is a maximum order limit of 6 tickets – orders over this amount will not be processed without prior arrangement. PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME AS PAYMENT REFERENCE if paying by bank transfer, otherwise we struggle to identify who has paid.
Anyone 16 years of age or under will need be be booked on with an adult. We are unfortunately unable to allow anyone under the age of 12 years old to travel. If under 17’s are in your group please advise at the time of booking as a dispensation form will need to be completed as per boat company policy. Parents / guardians are asked to consider that this a strong chance of heavy crowding, bad language etc on board.
