Bierkeller (pre-Norwich), Saturday 20th October – 11am
Before the Norwich game we will be hosted by Bierkeller on Friar Lane in Nottingham city centre for an Oktoberfest style pre-match. We begin at 11am and will run through until around 2pm before making our way to the ground.
Entry is FREE and admission is on a first come first served basis. Juveniles are welcome where accomopanied by an adult but we point out that some of the content / behaviour may not be child friendly! Our few hours at the Bierkeller will include:
> Live music from the Bavarian Stompers oompah band who will be playing a couple of sets for us.
> The conclusion of a charity run by a group of Forest fans who are undertaking a 8 mile fundraiser in aid of Maggie’s cancer support centre in Nottingham. Their run will set off from Kimberley and will end with us at the Bierkeller. You can read more about their story and the inspiration behind it here:
The guys will be armed with collection buckets on Saturday and they would massively appreciate anything you can spare.
Good luck to them.
> £10 Stein & Bratwurst deal will once again be on offer.
> The second instalment of our Predictor competition which we launched last month of the boats. Entrants select a team of 6 from the existing Forest squad, picking one player from each of the six pools. The chosen individuals will then earn points in the game against Norwich for various factors. Predictions will also be provided against the attendance and the final score.
Entry is £2 and 50% will be a prize for the winner and 50% towards the FG fund. The prize following the first competition was £126. We will be handing out sheets early on at the Bierkeller for those who want to take part.
Like last season we would like to feature some Munich 1979 memories, especially with this season marking 40 years since the triumph in the Olympic Stadium. If you have any old pictures, flags or scarves etc please bring them along. We will be showing your pics on the big screen.
In recent days it has been announced that Bierkeller’s parent company has entered administration. The expectation is that the venues will remain open and we do expect our pre-match to go ahead as planned. But clearly this is subject to change. If it does we will publicise this immediately. While it is unfortunate for us any inconvenience or disappointment is clearly nothing in comparison to those who risk losing their jobs.
Finally – we encourage you to get along early. There is a lot to squeeze in and last year we unfortunately had to turn people away.
Hope to see you there.
