Bristol City Away Gallery

At somewhere around the 40 minute mark I leaned towards the ear of the friend sat next to me and said ‘This is like watching Forest’. It looked like a team that hadn’t really played much together which, of course, was exactly what it was. The second half is hopefully a better glimpse of what we are going to become. It wasn’t perfect but we found momentum as we strode forward with a bit of style. Another pal was right when he pointed out that, refreshingly, an away point was not what we had turned up for. We didn’t sit on what was a decent point, we tried to nick all three.

Overall it was a enjoyable day in an almost tropical Bristol. The M5 did its best to stop many of us getting there with the convoy of Silverdale coaches snaking over the bridge towards the ground after 2pm. Others more fortunate gathered and drank by the water outside the Novia Scotia and other drinking holes soaking up the sun and feeling rather glad that the football season was back.
